WTF?? Why isn't it coming to the Wii? Someone needs to take a stand to this! Wii is better than a PC for fps games!!! What is there besides graphics that another console could offer? (the graphics on Wii are still next-gen after all...)
If I insult you...don't get offended...my insults are "friendly insults"...I know this sounds stupid (ridiculous) but I am fet up of writing, "no offense" in my posts...

Yeah I don't understand that either.Imagine halflife with wii mote it would rock. It's prolly cause the company is to lazy to develope to different versions in terms of controls or something.I can't think of another reason lol.

A company cannot be lazy as it is many people working together...the reason must be with Nintendo's childish name...anyone wanna gather up with me and protest? Either that or get the comp version..lol!
But I am serious, you wanna send Nintendo/Valve/EA a million emails complaining as to why its not on the Wii? Maybe they will make a Wii version?

Wow, that's a shame.. it's probably because they don't want to sink more money into r&d to come up with good controlls for the wiimote. I wonder what they are gonna do with the motion sensing ps3 controller?
Once the consoles go retail and the sales figures start coming back, software developers are going to start changing their mind about not releasing games for the Wii. Perhapse Valve will be one of them?
I don't think you'll be able to rally enough support to pressure Valve/EA to change their mind.. If they thought it would be profitable, they would have decided to release on the Wii.
What is your source for this news?

Nintendo needs to prove that the Wii is not a joke like the Gamecube was before companies start including them in all their ports.
But this is a very bad sign for things to come if trends like that continue.

trends are going both ways. some big names are piling on Wii support, while others are not supporting at all.
but I think things will pick up.

They will learn that sinking money into the Wii will be a good investment and Sony wasted their time on making the PS3 have motion sensing technology because what is the point of having motion sensing technology if you can't use it "all the way"?

I agree!

Once Valve (EA has already seen the way!) see's that all the other popular brands make loads of money thanks to the Wii, Valve will obviously join! That or if millions of people ask for Half-Life on the Wii, they will listen as well...after all, Wii is better than the PC at fps games! The Wii's downfall (which is not a big downfall I might add) is the graphics (which are still better than current gen graphics!)..

When I moved to my new house 3 years ago, I was stuck with 56k. I wanted to buy half life 2 and I noticed it said "internet connection required". I thought I would just have to register it after I installed it but then came steam. It forced me to download every steam and halflife 2 update which took 3 hours. After I installed it it made me connect to steam every time I turn on my computer if I want to play. Valve said that there was offline mode but offline mode wouldn't work unless everything was done updating and when I tryed deleting hl2 deathmatch and CS source and started steam in offline mode it said "this game connot be started in offline mode" when I tried to play HL2. Basicly, It forced you to connect to an online service to play a game offline which is a bit rediculous. Sure, its great now that I have DSL but it was terrible when I first got it.

I dont know how i feel about this as in my opionion a PC is needed for fps games mouse and keyboard need to be present for a fps game...on console at the moment its stupid..."press L1 to lock on" thats aimbot BULIT-IN a game!!!
But maybe i will find the Wiimote better for this? i don't know...but one thing i will say is that i wouldn't be mortified if it didn't come to Wii as i much prefer PC controls for fps and i have played all the other Half-Life games on PC and probably will continue this!

PC Gaming is sooo 1990's. Better get used to gamepads for FPS's. Consoles took over the world of gaming. Put a fork in PC gaming...it's done

PC gaming is not done, nor will it ever be, and I can still use my XBOX 360 controller for windows with some PC games and I do, things always look nicer on a PC, especially mine.
I cover my bases...
1)Xbox w/xecuter 2.6 solderless
2)Ps2 (slim) w/DMS4 Lite
3)Ps2 V7 w/DMS4 Lite and 200 Gig Maxtor HDD
4)GC w/qoob pro

Just for the record pc have sold much more in recent months after a down 2005 things are picking up.The reason it had a down 2005 is because games like doom3 and half life 2 were still getting big from 2004 and 2003.Yes there was some great games in 2005 but aside from war craft nothing spectacular.

PC is "teh P0wn3z" consoles can never beat a PC in total value and usage. But consoles like 360 let you play some games that you might need a high-end PC for at a smaller price (albeit at reduced quality when compared to a good PC), but I'd still rather have my PC. The only reason I haven't bought a 360 yet is b/c I can play all the games that I'd want on it in better detail on the PC without any additional investment, but when 360 has more going for it, i'll pick one up.

Yeah I agree I have both a descent gamming rig and xbox 360 as well as ps2 but the games seem to look better on my pc.The resolution of the monitor allows you to play in hd without the need for an expensive HDTV.
The only gripe I have is that.Pc games gamepad support is so little.I have tryed though as you can see from my sig to help people with this.I can't use a keyboard and mouse well unfortunately.
Pc games will never die.Strategy games and turn based rpg's only play well on a pc.War craft is a great example of how the pc is still thriving and always will.Doom 3,quake 4,half-life 2,serious sam 1&2,duke nukem, many final fantasy's,cod, etc are all ported from the pc.
exclusives like war craft, moh allied assualt and pacific assault, guild wars, age of empires, flight simulator links etc will ensure that the pc always has something that can only be played on the pc.

First of all welcome back beeftaco after your permanent ban! We've missed your pro-360 and anti-wii posts around here.
I wouldn't call warcraft which is the most popular game in the world right now insignificant.Pc has lot's of life without the fuss of the stupid "wars" that have been going on.
But hey this is a wii forum so let's talk wii.Half life was a port from the pc that's the reason it came up here.

The most popular game in the world is soccer and I said PC gaming is insignificant, not any particular game. The hay day of PC gaming is long gone and I can't see any possibility of it ever coming back. Consoles are here to stay as the kings of the gaming world

Well, think about this. (And keep in mind, I'm buying a Wii, so I'm not against it or anything.)
The Wii is 729Mhz, which is 4mhz less than the ORIGINAL xbox. It has great titles, and Nintendo will most likely work miracles with it. But the fact remains, that the hardware is just old. For those of us who played HL2 on the XBox, we know that after they spent more than six months porting it and 'optimizing' it for the XBox, it ran horribly. The graphics were pretty subpar, and the experience lost most of it's value in the port.
Porting it to the Wii would suffer the same problems, and really would only serve to make people mad, between the fact that EA and Valve are *not* going to take the time to retool the game for that controller on what is considered sub-par hardware. Again, I love what I'm hearing on the Wii, but it makes a lot of sense to see that this title will not be released there. It would make less sense if they tried to, considering how small their age market is on Nintendo systems. Maybe that will change some day, but for nowm those facts serve as more than adequate reasoning not to release it on the Wii.
