just curious how do you guys feel about this software. just wanna know if i'm using one of the best products to convert my media. thanx

WinAvi is an excellent 1 step program giving good quality and speed but for even better quality, I use MainConcept. There are other good encoders, too. I don't think you can beat a good encoder for quality but the speed will be nowhere near that of WinAvi. I have both and only use WinAvi for RMVB and some TV episodes.

What format are you converting to? If I'm saving the movie/ show as an mpeg2 I use WinAVI; if I'm saving as mpeg4 I use DivX through Mpeg Mediator. Both programs are quick and give excellent results

WinAvi has made significant improvements since 7.5. It's super fast, highly flexible (has great tolerance for errors), and handles some less common formats (e.g. rm). I normally use VSO to encode my videos for reliability. But for rms or avis with vorbis audio etc., I use WinAvi.

i cant use any them programs to burn i can only use them to encode

i have to creat a video ts file then use clonedvd2 to burn the vidoe ts folder

mostly cuz my home player r touchy but i also make backup of my dvd and that seam to be the only prog that that burn to a stander dvd format that works on all stand alone players i found


i tried Nero cheatha and other converting progs with option to burn but they work for crap in my opion so i just use what ever encoder seam reasonable quick cus all i realy need is for it to crate a video ts folder
