Ok this is how it goes. I cannot run the windows update. It goes through all the pages but when it gets to the install it just sits there and then about 45 min later it errors out. Also when I go to start shutdown the system just stops responding. So i always have to do a hard shutdown. I tried up grading to IE 7 but it just locks up during the install. Ive run ad aware and trend micro online virus scan.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

dont know much about this but i found a link on another thread that analyses your log file for you and lets you decide what to fix when i put your log file through it it came up with one bad entry that needs sorted you could try it out for yourself
