1.5s arnt made by sony anymore. So if you buy any version up to 2.60, you can downgrade it to experience full homebrew capabilities

The is no difference between downgraded 1.5 and factory 1.5 except for that fact that you had to downgrade it. 1.5 psp's are more expensive becuase you can load homebrew on them. 1.5 psp's are also becoming more and more scarce to find. Also another reason why there is a price jump in that firmware version.

no that is not what i meant, sorry if i worded that wrong. by all means if u downgrade it u can use homebrew. but be careful becuz not all psp's are downgradeable.

well only as of a couple weeks ago, you could downgrade 2.5 and 2.6's to 1.5.
People with high priced 1.5's are still trying to cash in while they can.
But remember, if a 2.5 or 2.6 is of the newer motherboard and hardware, ta-082, you CANT downgrade.
So a 1.5, you KNOW is already 1.5, old hardware. Whether factory 1.5 or already downgraded.
You get a 082 motherboard and try to downgrade it and welcome to Brickville, psp wont work anymore.
So theres slight comfort and security getting a 1.5 knowing the scary work is already done.
But buy a 2.6 and take a chance its new motherboard too.
