picture moving quicker than sound

Hi.

I have recently gone to play a few videos on my computer and i have noticed a re-occuring problem. The Picture appears to be moving a lot quicker than the sound for it. So for instnace people on the video will be talking and their dialogue will come around a second after. Also it not just with my video file on my computer. I have recently burnt some LOST episodes onto a disk using Nero. Again the same thing happens here, the picture moves quicker than the sound. The picture and the sound are in perfect timing at the beggining of the videos files but then after a short period of time the picture moves before the sound does.

Hope someone can help as this is highly frustrating.
