hi, im new... but i have read many of the threads here... I have a 2.71 firmware psp (yes I know I'm screwed, but i didn't know i could do all that cool things with the older versions until I updated it)... I want to know which firmware did my psp came with... i don't really remember... is there something in the box or the manual? cuz i don't find anything... thanks :P

Check the FAQs, and there was a section to tell the firmware from the box

i don't remember where i read that psp's that came with version 2.5 were not able to downgrade.... I do have hope for a 2.71 downgrader btw.... thx

No actually you can downgrade firmware 2.5 PSPs that came with that firmware. But you must update to firmware 2.6 first.

It'll probably be a long time till there will be a downgrader for 2.71. No exploit has been found at all.
