Hello,
I have been having a similar problem backing up a few of my movies. I use Mac the Ripper,
and DVDRemaster to compress it, and never had a problem.
Today I tried to rip a movie to back up, and when I played it back I got color distorions
every few seconds. How can I set Mac The Ripper to avoid this?

Thanks,
MACMitch

you may need to get the latest MTR version.. the only way to get that is to do the donation for it.

i know how but you need another free application called handbrake and another application called idvd or imovie

let me explain sonys encryption handbrake can decode but can only convert the video into mpeg4 directly from the dvd you need imovie or idvd to convert it from mpeg4 dvd quality from handbrake into VOB for macintosh

You can try and explain all you want, but not everything you "explain" is always correct.

You can use handbrake to rip the dvd into mpeg4. I would only recommend this if you're just leaving this on your HD and try to play this off your HD. Then having to re-encode back to dvd using Imovie & IDVD, you will lose the quality and the compression won't help you at all.

As I posted into another thread, people need to get paid for the work they do. Imagine if somebody found a way to cheat you out of money at what your job is. You wouldn't have a job. So just donate and get the latest builds of MTR.
