Ok i keep reading that you have to burn Your PS2 DVD back-ups at 1x speed, but i dont have that option the lowest i can burn it at is 4x speed, will they still play? I have Sony DVD-R 50 pack which was expensive and it didnt give me a choice of 1x with those so i went and bought a 50 pack of fugifilm which said has speeds 1x-16x but when i put it in my dvd burner the lowest speed I can go is 4x.

So basically im wondering.....

1. Will My Ps2 Back-up still play at a burning speed of 4x?

2. I use Nero burning program

3. Is their a way where i can get the DVD-R to burn at 1x?

ALL HELP APPRECIATED!

i dont know who told you,you must burn at x1,but thats not correct
i burn at x4 always,x4 is the most successful speed to use

burning speed is actually dependent on the rated speed of the media, since people have the most success with 8x media, burning at 4x is the most common. If you use 16x media (which I'd suggest you don't) you should burn at 8x

why do you suggest not to use 16x?

also could you give me an exact name to which good DVD-R's to buy?

also your burner has alot to do with burn speed also. i had a sony that burned at a max speed of 4x. so i was able to select the low speeds like 1x and 2x to burn at. alot of people nowadays have 16x burners and can burn at alot higher speeds. and therefore, sometimes cant select 1x or 2x.

I have a 16x writer and I can burn from 1x-16x without problem... a lot of the times you'll find that if you update the firmware quite a few problems can be solved

are you using 16x discs when you select 1x? also updating your firmware can help out in these instances. but thats not guaranteed.
