So I ran out and bout a psp as sonn as i heard i could play snes games on it. I used snestaion before so i figured it would be a breeze considering it took less that 5 mins to set it up the first time as well as the hdadvance. So then i get home and find out about this firmware stuff. BTW i got a 2.6. So i try this downdater. Nothing happens. I mean gta loaded up and it started me like 7% into the game and i was a bully and i had a bunch of wepons but nothing loaded. So then I try this eloader thing. Nothing. Again same crap. Game loads to 7% and wepons and all that are the same. I am not trying to play hacked psp games like 95% of the ppl here I just want to play the snes roms i LEGALLY own. Any help would be gratly appreciated. Thanks in advance. P.s. Is the an irc room dedicated to this subject. Thanks again.

Um u actually have to load the fifth save game which is the eboot atm the games autoloading the newest save game so once you in the game click start then load then scroll down to the funny icon and load that.

I did that and it said loaded. I pushed O for back and then it said if you continue all progress will be lost. I said ok. Then it just started me at the exact same place on the game with the same amount of progress completed. Thanks for the response btw. I also viewed all the file on the memory chip thingy and there where onl 3 not 5. Is that a problem? If so where do i get a copy of the file i need? I got mine from pspupdates. Thanks again.

a couple of things. First thing, don't come to a forum asking for help claiming that 95% of the very people you are asking help from are pirating illegal games. How can you expect to get help from people that you attack and ask for help from in the same sentence.
Second thing. You probably aren't using the correct GTA game. They fixed the exploit and re-released the game.

lol that's funny because if you look right above and below my post it is two questions about pirating games. Anyway I'm well aware of that fact that is why Im asking how to load the snes emulator ONLY and if there is another exploit without gta or with the patched version as i cannot seem to get my hands on an older copy. Ive tried every store i know even the crappy ones like gamestop. I've tried renting it from blockbuster and gametap but bb dont have any psp games(atleast here in fort benning) and gametap will not let you pick a version so you just rent the game and hope for the best. Thanks for the response eventhough it is rather condesending. And btw I dont mean to offend those of us who are members and are using these exploits to run LEGALLY obtained software or homebrew appz. I think that the online community greatly appreciates your commitment and developing/cracking/hacking skills.

just to clarify my question... is there an exploit for the psp that does not require the use of GTA LCS? If so what di I need? Thanks in advance.

No there isn't. Is your PSP a factory 2.6. Does it have the TA-082 mobo? If the answer to both these questions is no, you can downgrade to 1.5 and run homebrew easily w/o GTA
Do this:
1.Format your memory stick (after backing up any important data).
2.Put the GTA Eloader from http://www.noobz.eu into your SAVEDATA folder.
3.Download the Easy Downgrader.
4. Plug in your PSP, put it into USB mode and then run the easy downgrader on your computer.
5. After it has finished, get out of USB mode and then run the Eloader and then using the Eloader run the downgrader.
(NOTE: During this process, make sure your AC adaptor is plugged in).

the same thing happend it just went directly to the game. I pushed start and the loaded the save game file that says: "GTA:Liberty City Stories 7/17/2006 12:41 AM 384 KB Fanjita Slot5 Homebrew www.fanjita.org" it says load complete. I push O for back. Load Game? I put yes. GTA Load screen and then Saint Mark's, The time is 05:58. I have 2,470$ and 5 wepons including a camera and my fist. What am i doing wrong? No i dont have the TA-082 mobo so what exatly am I doing wrong? Please keep coming with any possible solutions. Thank you.

Ok I just tried manually extracting every file/folder to it's perspective folder on the memstick. Loading the game. It starts at exatly the same point in the game. Taking the appropriate steps to load the exploit. Ok.. now im getting the gta load screen (didn't happen before) and there back to the exact same point in the game. What is going on? Am i being hit with a retarded bug? I mean Ive tried every version of eloader i could find from 260 to 097 and nothing. What is going on? There has to be another way besides using GTA right? Please continue with the help!! Thanks.

ok so after much research and trial and error I found my problem. The GTA version that i have is ulus10041 BUT there are 2 version one hasUPDL 010050 on the umd disk itself witch is the "Patched version" the other contains UPDL 0048501A 5, plus IFPI L332 in very small letters on the UMD disk so I guess that resolves the problem. I will begin a new thread asking for help on exploits that do not use GTA thanks guys.

dude on a 2.6 GTA is the only known exploit....
Unless u downgrade to a 1.5 or get the GTA exploit working then u will never play Snes on ur PSP.
PS3...it only does everything(that Sony allows it to)

Thats not true. You can run emulators on 2.6 with the GTA:LCS exploit and the eloader.
