you guys have helped me with alot of question which have helped me alot.

Well i was thinking of getting a router in order to stay online with the computer and play online with my xbox. what is a good one to get and will it effect my download speed on the pc. Thanks again guys for the help.

nope wont affect your download speeds

Like aabbccdd said it should not affect your download speeds much. If you want Wireless then I recommend the Buffalo High Power Range. If you want wired then any old router will do. Just make sure its 100mbs speed not 10mbs. Theres plenty on eBay.
