Just wondering how I can do this to play with the menus safely via devhook first before flashing to 1.5

what are you trying to do, exactly?

Sounds like you want Flashmod to make custom menu names or something, but IDK. I'll need more info on what you're trying to do...

soz its slightly off topic, but is it safe to play with the 2.71 flash that you are going to emulate? e.g. play about with gameboots etc. it it going to interfere with my 1.5 flash/firmware thanks :)

Exactly, do some flashmod x-flash type stuff.
Mess with the boot sounds, etc.
Id like to see how it all looks without committing to screwing up the real 1.5 info. Its a loaner from a friend.
Ive been dabbling with the backgrounds for 2.71 with devhook. And yes, first thing I tried was a diff gameboot.
I had grabbed a full version release and had this nasty Naruto gameboot so that got me into seeing you can safely try stuff in devhook.

@ TheGlow:

Dude, can I get a copy of that Naruto gameboot?

and when you say "Nasty", that means cool, right? I don't want a gameboot of Naruto showing his junk or something...

pmsl - yeah guano, he's gunna walk onto the screen and whip out his wang at you, and give it a shake, and then a farting noise and the psp will continue to the next screen. :)

pmsl!!!!

@ hodgins:

No. You can do anything you want to the EMULATED flash folders. hell, you could put an mp3 in Flash0\...\resources and call it "gameboot.pmf" if you wanted. The worst that will happen (since you're emulating FW and it's not the ACTUAL) is the PSP will freeze, then crash. That's it. Nothing bad could ever happend from mucking something up in emu flash.
