hi guys i just wanted to know whats the chance my psps gets bricked by the new custom fw, the fw seems a great thing to be using.
theres also a new version of it out, which is amazingly good, from what i hear.

ye but scares me from doing this is the fact that im going pakistan and i really wanna have a non bricked psp to play with over there, so im a bit over protective right now
edit; what i reckon booster should do is incorporate a custom fw emulation in his next devhook release, that would be amazing

just to notify i have now done this and it worked perfectly, though with this custom fw the boot time is slower than usual,
btw anyone else who has tried this is it okay to remove the custom fw folder in x:psp/game
edit: legend m8, have u tried it yet, if yes did u find the booting up of the psp slightly slower

Booster is talking about that for his next release. Read it over at MAXCONSOLE in a Quote from Booster himself.
Also alienator, some of the questions you're asking here have already been answered on the POC Custom FW thread. johncchc did it and it went off w/o a hitch!
It's REALLY easy, nothing to worry about... Your PSP WILL NOT get bricked. The ONLY reason they say that is b/c if you're lacking experience w/ the PSP (if you're a n00b) don't mess w/ the flash. Otherwise, if you've written to the flash before, nothing will happen. This custom FW will NOT upgrade OR downgrade your current FW. It just makes it more flexible.

just like what guano had said, there is nothing to be scare of. i have done it myself thanks to guano hard-work. just like what guano said, it does not upgrade or downgrade your psp, it will help make the psp better in some part such as when u first turn on ur psp, instead of the sony enternainment screen poping up, it will skip that part and go directly to the 1.5 fm. again, i have tried it and it works like a charm. if u need help, just pm me or guano!!! another hot feature is that it doesnt load the umd when u first turn your psp on. this way, it saves time without ejecting your umd. A must try fm!!!

oh and btw i have used my flash many times before and also i did know that this doesnt change your fw or anything but all it does is add to it
oh and also just because your a senior member doesnt mean me , who is a member, wont know much about the psp, i do actually know more about the psp than most of the people who post round here who may actually be higher status than me but that doesnt mean i dont know how to flash or i have never flashed.
