i flashed my hitachi drive. burned a prepatched game with CloneCD al went ok
then when i go to play, black screen then error "disc is dirty"


how do i fix this?

try pushing eject button twice and see if it plays.. from what I understand the hitachi can be touchy. I am using the samsung... but I saw a post that says to hit eject twice for it to play on some discs..

that eject trick is only for the new hitachi firmware, please update your firmware

yes.

when turning on the xbox with game in:

wait for the xbox splash to load, and 2 seconds before it goes into game (it will take some time to learn the timing) press eject twice, and wait a little longer ,the game will load.

when inserting the game from dash:

insert the game, wait about 15 second, which should be about 2 seconds before the game loads. and hit eject twice, again the game should load fine.
