Hey guys,

I thought I would post about a major custom firmware problem I had, it's weird as it affected my PC, not my PSP. I got the "Custom Firmware Recovery Mode Submenu Mod v0.2 For PSP 1.5" and started to install all of it and flash the vshmain.prx. As I was installing everything to my MS, (not sure if i was editing the config.txt at this point), I got a message pop up on my PC that said something like the following -

"Windows has failed to write C:/WINDOWS/system32/config/systevent. You may need to save this file at another location."

This either happened before or during me ejecting the PSPs USB. I played around with the firmware on the PSP for a bit, but couldn't really get into it, so I plug in my PSP to edit the config. I get the little usb ding sound, but then my PC does a system error restart. I restarted normally and tried the PSP usb again, and got another error restart. This time my PC did a disc check before starting and repaired some corrupted data. At this point I decided to get rid of all the custom firmware as it wasn't worth this hassle, so I downloaded the undoer and ran it. As I was deleting all of the extra Custom stuff from my PSP, like the AUTOBOOT folder etc, I got another

"Windows has failed to write C:/WINDOWS/system32/config/systevent. You may need to save this file at another location."

error, but I mananged to delete everything, as well as all the custom firmware related folders from my PC without it error restarting. I have turned it off now and am on my laptop, with no custom firmware folders present on either my PC or PSP. I think that my PC may disc check next time I boot up, but I don't think I will get any more error messages. The fact that I never got that error message before, and that it had config in it, and it came while I was editing a config text makes me think there may be a link, but it could be a very random co-incidence. Everything is cool now, but I have decided custom firmware is not for me, lol!

If anyone else has got this problem, or knows why it happened to me, please post so I know I am not some random freak of nature!

Peace guys!
