I have this mobo with the via vt8237 chipset on it and whever i plug my xboxs dvd (sammy h-943) it said no device, anyone knows what should i do ?

dont know if this will help ya much but I have a VIA SATA controller on mine and to get it to work I used my SATA Hard drive hooked up to SATA2 and 360 Samsung drive on 1 and left the xbox 360 off while the PC loaded into Dos from my USB Pen drive (otherwise it would lock up during detection of the SATA devices in the BIOS and would say there was an error and the SATA BIOS couldnt be loaded) and then when at dos prompt I unpluged the power to my SATA Hard Drive and powered on my 360. then when I loaded the flash utility to backup my drive and reflash it it worked fine.
Also did this same process for loading into windows with the drive for backups. I left 360 powered off till it got past loading the SATA Bios then powered it on just before loading windows and it was all set. dont know why the bios doesnt want to see it but this is how I got mine to get past that point.

So i turned the xbox on after the a:/> prompt and flashed the way EVERYONE says:
mtkflash r backup.bin
then copy from 4000 to 4200 and paste them in 4000 in xtreme.bin
then mtkflash w xtreme.bin
It said finished and now my backups say to insert into an xbox 360, like when you get the dvd in a dvd player.
What did i do wrong ?
I have the sammy drive, btw

oh jesus... pay attention closly!!!
Flash with your backup. this will put the 1 of 4 sectors back in place.
now use this command!
mtkflash r /m backup.bin
without the /m you aren't grabbing all 4 "banks"
you then have to edit like you did
now flash back with mtkflash w /m xtreme.bin.
the problem is you only pulled 1 bank by not putting in the "/m"

That wasn't on any of the 2 threads i read >< so i guess i dont even have my firmware backup...

the backup.bin you took from your xbox, you copied pasted 4000-4200, so you must have it still on your harddrive somewhere... just put it back on the a:\ it should still be on the disk, unless you copied it off and deleted it (i dont know why youd do that)
anyway the original firmware is independent so find your backup.bin or you have a "bricked" xbox.
when you find it
type mtkflash w backup.bin (DO NOT PUT THE /m IN !!!!!) and put it back on...
then do mtkflash r /m backup.bin (NOW ALWAYS USE THE /M)
then do the edit.
For future reference, dont listen to third party website tutorials, the xtreme package comes with a very good tutorial, i dont know why you didn't follow that.

Sadly, even tho i have 5 seedes/4 peers it doesn't pass the 13kbps :'( plus i cant even register on teir furms becasue of a "same email error"
But ill see what i can do.
PS (i know this might not be the place to ask) anyone know where can i get a Female to Female Sata adapter ? (to connect 2 regular sata cables together)
