Just received a PSP with firmware of 1.5 Tried to load backup games eg. Tiger Woods 06(.ISO) using Fastloader 0.7. Get the splash screen for Fastloader but only once every 5-6 times does the menu with cogs come up. the other times it comes up with error 80020001 Really frustrated- any ideas ??? PS: Once the cogs menu comes up I can load and play the game fine. Should I be looking at different software version for Fastloader ?

Fastloader is probably the 1st emulator for the PSP which is why alot of games dont work with it....Just use Devhook 0.43 or 0.44 instead and
you'll be able to play the majority of games no probs :) ;)

Fastloader was the first ISO loader and it was made before games were encrypted and required updates so as BURNCK said it cant load newer games.

Yeah but he just wants to know why he has problems opening fastloader, he already said that the game works when he can get fastloader to run

Yeah I know but was just explaining that Fastloader was the first emu for the PSP so he'd be best off updating to DevHook and he'd avoid probs as well as being able to play alot more games with it :) ;)

Yeah I know, just it can all seem a bit much when you first get into the scene with everyone telling you to use different loaders, once you get the hang of one you get more confident and experiment with others.

Good point, damo. I was gonna ask why ppl are even still using this when we've got such great emu on the scene, but I guess that explains it.

I was a little more fortunate when I first became a 1.5 user as in there was only really fastloader and umdemulator to get to grips with. As the later loaders came along I learnt to use them, whereas new 1.5 users have all these different loaders to learn straight off.

I checked the settings and all seem to be fine. Dev hook sees the .ISO file but when it goes to auto run it just sits at the black screen. Sorry to trouble you but any clues ?

PROGRESS !! For some reason the UMD mount wasn't saving to the settings you suggested. Have sorted this out. Daft question but now when pointing at UMD it loads the .ISO file (and the game works great)- is this correct ? I tried loading from Devhook but it says data corrupted. Really want to get this sorted as I'm 90% there I guess...

Yeah once you use devhook to load an ISO then press home to go to the xmb, you won't be able to go into devhook because you will be emulating 2.71 firmware, which you can't run homebrew on. If you want to change your ISO press the home button and L/R.

I would have said it was easier to get to grips with DevHook than Fastloader and UMDEmulator.
Trying to remember whether to use Copy Load, Direct Load, System Menu, etc,......at least with Devhook I dont have to p*ss around with settings.
