I am looking for a good editing software.
First I tell you what I will use it for.
Since a few years ago I have been producing short movies made of parts of other movies (in Italy these are called blobs).
I used to do them with an analogic editor, taking part of (usually VHS) videotapes and assembling them together on another (normally Betamax) tape. Now the VHS and other analogic formats are as good as dead, so recently I started to try to keep on making these movies on digital format. But I found a few problems.
First most DVDs are protected, so first I need to use DVDshrink to uncode them. Then I need to find an editing program that is able to pick files produced by DVDshrink, edit them accurately (I mean photogram by photogram, not like the editor of DVDshrink) and put together in the same title hundreds of short files that sometimes are only a few seconds long.
Is there such an editing program available for download? It doesn't need to be freeware, I am willing to pay for it.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me.

About the editing part, I can't help you much. One thing I can tell you. Don't count on Shrink for the "uncoding" because you will eventually hit a wall. For newer movies you will need AnyDVD ($35) or DVD Fab Decrypter (free).

If I always hear voices surrounding me, does it mean Im crazy or that I hear in Dolby 5.1?

For what you're doing Shrink is a fine choice, I do a lot of simular work only I put clips together and make Music Video's (Fan tributes) to various Shows. Shrink had the wonderful ability to RE-Author just "clips" of such protected DVD's( this isn't really legal but what the heck We're Fans! The problem is you end up with .VOB flies, Right? Most Editing Programs don't support them. What you need in between is a MPEG Encoder Such as ImTOO Mpeg encoder ..it will take your .vob and convert them into .avi that can then be imported/supported in Various Non-Linear Editing Programs ranging from WMM windows movie Maker all the way to Premiere Pro, Etc Just remember to keep your output settings the same for all your clipps! I.E. framesize, Aspect Ratio, framerate, etc. And you will be able to make the most beautiful Blobs!
