Since my xbox is downstairs and my router is upstairs, i require some sort of wireless connection to go on live. However I do not wish to buy the expensive wireless adapter. I have a wireless laptop, and currently I have my xbox plugged into the laptop with a cross over cable, and the wireless internet as the internet connection on the laptop. When i try to enable sharing on the wireless card it gives me an error saying something like.. "Sharing cannot be enabled, a lan connection with the same ip as the automatic ip adress is enuse" i forget the exact quoting but thats the gist of it. This error is not a surprise to me since my router is 192.168.0.1 and thats what windows is trying to set my shared connect up on... So i changed my router to 192.168.0.2 as per the m$ support page, and i still get the error... Can anybody help me out?

Why not just get a wireless bridge so you don't have to be tied to your laptop? Do a search for Linksys Wet11 on ebay. They can be had for 20 bucks or so. Works just as good as the 100 adapter
