Ok so lately I have been having problems connecting to a specific friend on xbox live. I couldnt figure out so i contacted tech support online and of course they just give me either, "its your router" or keep transferring me. Anybody have any solutions to this problem.

Ok are you sure that person has a 360 account and your spelling it correctly?

What did they say about your router and are you able to get on live with it?

BTW big companies don't have time for you.They want your money.That's what we're here for lol.

Try connecting to him without your router, just a straight connection. Routers can be very picky and it very well could be that

Ask on the boards for your 360 problems, because tech support doesn't know nothing edited by ddp if it's not in their script. They told me that I needed to buy a Xbox 360 compatible wireless router when I was having Live issues despite the fact I used to my router for months with no problems. In the end I fixed the problem myself with little help from them.

Hey thanks, yea I think I might try talking to some of them. I think the problem might be my friends router. I thought I read somewhere that the linksys router was a x360 compatible router. Although I have opened a proxy port anyway I don't think he ever did. Not sure if this will fix it or not.

really? Im sorry to hear about your bad run-in w/ their tech support. I thought MS's tech support was amazing. At least they all speak good english and are polite. They were very helpful to me.

@ joshh967: Yeah, A linksys router will do ya fine. I have had mine for 3 years I ever since I got Xbox Live and it has worked almost perfectly. Every so often it will tell me on Full Auto that my connection wont let me host a game and will limit the amount of games I can join. But other than that it is pretty good.

About a month ago I called me MS tech support and got transfered around so much and put on hold so long I eventually hung up on them. Later that day I realized that I actually needed to talk to them and had to call back lol. Now [after my warranty expired] I have to call them back because my Xbox360 started freezing up on me all of a sudden throughout the last 2 days. I hope it goes a little smoother than last time.
