Can a TA-082 PSP play ROM's/Run Emulators?

I bought my first PSP earlier, hoping to be able to play some SNES games on an Emulator, since that's what my friend does with his.

Now I have it, and I'm just now starting to learn about the Firmware.

Honestly, I'm tired, it's 4 A.M and I can't take in any of that information lol


I've searched around on several sites trying to see if someone else has that question, but couldn't find it.

My PSP is a TA-082, with the code "1C1003" on it. It's a 2.6 factory Firmware. Which, from what I have read and understand, can't be downgroaded. I do not have Liberty City Storie's either.


But, if I DID have Liberty City, or hell even if I never get it, is there a current way for me to play a SNES Emulator on my PSP?

So far there is no possible way to do that as u need 2.0 up to 2.6 to be able to run an emulator. Although I have read rumors of people downgrading a ta-082 psp. I would try it and tell you if it works but dont have one on hand ATM.

I've seen the same rumors, but I don't want to throw away the $200+ I just spent on this to try and play a free game :(

Well I wouldn't give up all hope. All it takes is time. Not to long ago, maybe a month or so the 2.5/2.6 downgrader was released. I give it another few months and someone will create a 2.7/2.71 downgrader.

or you could try to find someone w/o a TA-082 Mobo that's not really in the scene, like some friend or retarded co-worker or something, and try to trade them for the 'upgraded' psp or something, otherwise maybe some used game store would do a straight up trade??? or u could try returning it to the store you bought it at and tell them your no comfortable w/ this newer version, you'd like if they could find an old one.

yes u can play homebrew on a ta-082 with gta just u cant downgrade it

finished series 2 :D

was v1.5 (got stolen)new ceramic white 2.6---> downgraded to 1.5 :D
