I had the newer 6.6 that kept screwing up discs, so I went back to the 6.6.0.18 that was recommended on this board for a similar problem, but it hasn't alleviated my problems with burning discs. It seems to get up to about 53%-60% when I burn at 8x and then dorks it up, and if I go slower, it just dorks up faster (2x gets me to about 35%-45%). It's driving me insane. I'm using a usb burner (on usb 2.0). The media is cheap, however it didn't give me any problems until recently. I've burned through about 80 discs of the same cheap media with no problems. I fail to think that I picked up a new spindle with completely bogus discs, but I dunno. Here's my log from a recent dork-up by Nero. If you can help me out, I'd love you forever.

You don't have a lot free memory. Be sure to shutdown any apps not needed.
Disc Manufacturer: OPTODI - SCR008
You're using Optodisk media which is low quality stuff.
External burners can often be problematic especially w/r to Nero. Try outputing an ISO file and burn that with DVD Decrypter or ImgBurn.

@ronfar
It's your bad media most likely. I have no trouble with an external USB LG burner and Nero together. I now use the USB to rip and internal BenQ to write. But either will burn flawlessly.
Edit: Nero 6.6.0.18 definitely the best Nero of the 6 series and maybe better than 7.
