Hi Guys
Ive recenty bought a PSP with lemmings, without realising lemmings (umd) insisted that I upgrade my firmware to 2.71.
After reading this site I have reaced the conclusion that maybe I was a bit hasty, but then how could I play the game if I didnt.
My serial number (under the battery) starts FB183xxxx
Is It possible (and where would I get it from) to firstly downgrade the firmware to 1.50 (as this seems to be the one) but still be able to play games like lemmings.
Thanks for a great site and for your coming help
Cheers
Mike

iff you have :
1.00 - upgrade to 1.5 to enjoy max usage of your psp
1.50 - stay here!
2.00 - you can downgrade with the mph downgrader
2.01 - update system to 2.5/6 and use easy downgrader
2.5/6 - use the easy downgrader with the gta exploit
2.70/1 - buy the modchip, or wait a while for an exploit.
The sig is back!

awaw, it's too late aynth, u should had came here before when u first upgraded ur psp to 2.71 to play that lemming game. your going to have to wait for a while for the downgrader to work for 2.71, or u can return it back to the store where u bought it from and replace it with another one that's 2.60.

All he needs is a good modchip(UP the only) and this software http://www.psp-hacks.com/2006/07/22/epsilon-bios-v10-released/ Heres a desription from PSP-Hacks,
Exciting news for U.P. modchip owners! The long awaited Epsilon BIOS for the Undiluted Platinum (U.P.) PSP Modchip has been released today. The user guide describes it best:
Epsilon BIOS is a custom flash ?replacement? for the Sony PSP which unleashes the full potential of your handheld, allowing you to both use homebrew software and run UMD ISO games from your memory stick on the latest firmware releases while also enjoying the impressive features built into the operating system such as RSS feeds, WMA support etc. Currently the 2.71 firmware release is supported.
It is important to note that Epsilon BIOS is not standalone firmware replacement but more like a bootloader. It works using the dual-firmware system provided by the Undiluted Platinum hardware modification by loading when the PSP is initially powered on, then once running executes and ?piggybacks? the real firmware stored in your PSP flash memory. Due to the way this works it is NOT possible to use Epsilon BIOS unless your PSP has an U.P. hardware modification installed.
Epsilon BIOS v1.0 features:
* Runs alongside 2.71 firmware, so you get all the features of 2.71 such as RSS feeds, web browser etc combined with the advantages of homebrew software and ISO loading.
* Allows execution of homebrew software in kernel mode, removing all limits previously in place while running homebrew on firmware versions above 1.50.
* Ultra reliable, near transparent UMD emulation allowing users to run their games from a memory stick with ease, including games which require 2.0+ firmware without rebuilding the ISO or relying on nasty hacks.
* Support for compressed ISO files for UMD emulation, allowing you to fit more games onto your memory stick at one time.
* Built-in recovery menu which can be used to to update your Epsilon BIOS installation or restore your PSP flash contents if it becomes ?bricked?.
Check out the included user guide for more information.
Download: Epsilon BIOS v1.0 - includes user guide and the ZIP tool for compressing PSP ISO images in a custom Epsilon-compressed format.

Its a pity there wasnt a FACTORY RESET button on the Psp which takes it back to how I bought it.
I dont really fancy getting one of these Epsilon BIOS upgrades as I am sure this will mean getting the spanners out to my PSP which I am reluctant to do as its still under warranty.
In the mean time, what else can I do with my 2.71 PSP, I really wanted to play Sudoku on it
Cheers

Ooops! My PSP has seemed to have delevoped an intermittant fault with sound so I have taken it back for a replacement, my replacement has 2.5 firmware on it :-)
Where do I go from here then, I presume I downgrade to 1.5 firware but then how do I get the games (such as lemmings) to work when they insist on 2.6 firmware ?
Cheers
