Hello every one, I am not sure where to put this, but I hope it works, last night I was on my computer a about 2am listening to music and talking to some people on AIM. Then suddenly my computer freezes then crashes to the dreeded "blue" screen, the error saying something about "iv this error continues try removing any newly installed hardware" turns out 3 days before this I had put in an old cd-rw from one of the computers in my basement to burn a few CDs for my Dad, so I removed it and every thing started Booting up normally, but during the Bios booting, I notice that something was different, the Screen said
Quote:IDE S.M.A.R.T compatible......disabled
and now my computer is acting VERY strange, I know that the S.M.A.R.T is Self Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting Technology. I belive that since this was disabled somehow now my computer isn't reporting its problems and soon my HD is going to be dead, any help on how I can enable it again?
-Thanks auth
