Hi All,

I am new to this forum, but it seems that a lot of people have found what they have been looking for here, so I would give it a shot too.

I have an ASUS OEM Matshita UJ840S DVD-RAM burner with possible 8x Dual Layer burning capability. I never could make one DL disk just yet. I have already screwed up 3 Verbatim DVD+R DL discs. The log below shows everything. (I have used Nero 6 and OEM as well with the same log and END result... :( ). Plus, I could only set 2.4x speed as Writing speed (though the box states possible 8x )

I did not have problem burning DVD-R discs, CD-s etc. Only this DL thing does not want to work. All advice is greatly appreciated. Thanx.

Could be the version of Nero that you have, i recommend uninstalling your Nero and running this clean tool:

http://www.nero.com/nero7/eng/Nero_7_Clean_Tool.html

Install Nero version 7.0.8.2 from here:

http://www.filehippo.com/download_nero_7_premium/?845

Enter your cdkey, this one seems to be bug free. People have been having problems with version 7.2.3.2 which is what you have.

Hi DegenX,

Thank you for the tip. I will do this, however, as I have said, I have had original Nero 6 OEM, which was given together with my Asus notebook and it did the exact same thing (the only reason I have tried to install a newer version, because I thought OEM soft did not support DL burning, however, it seems it did)... :(

Any thoughts on that?

Cheers,

R.

If you had Nero 6 on your computer before, it could possibly conflict with Nero 7. I suggest uninstalling Nero. Run this clean tool for Nero 6:

http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/us/Nero_6_CleanTool.html

Run the clean tool for 7 too again after. Then try the link I provided for you for 7. Or install Nero 6 that you have and check for updates from the Nero website.

I have used all the clean tools. Also tried Nero 6 again, moreover, I have cleaned again then I have tried Nero 7 again. Then I have updated to the newest from the Nero website. Then I have tried to burn a different brand of DL. Nothing worked. I cannot say I have burned a single DL disc yet.

Moreover, I could not burn above 2x speed, DVD-R discs (though I have tried 3 different brands).

The burner should be 8x DL DVD-RAM burner...

All additional help would be appreciated.

Cheers,

R.

Uninstall again, and run the clean tools. Do not install the version you bought and then update!!! This doesn't seem to work properly. Instead install version 7.0.8.2 directly from the link I provided you above. When you install this version, enter your cdkey from the one you bought. It will say demo version but if you enter your key, you will have the full version.
