I've been creating my own little collection of dvd movies for a little while now but i'm kind off getting fed up with what i've got to work with even though I haven't mastered the proggy I use (ULEAD DVD WORKSHOP) but I know it as it's limitation. I want to be able to create proper menu like what you see when you purchase a dvd, (menu background music,menu motion background) you know all that stuff. If anyone as created a menu of this quality what proggy did you have to use is there a guide for the proggy also ? Also how long did it take you when you first started using the proggy and how long does it take you now from start to finish?

Well I use Pinnacle Studio 8 which is an excellent editing software at a good price. It also enables you to create your own menu screen, even animated ones, complete with your choice of music and to set the scene changes where you would like. The menus look very professional and the authoring enables you to output to a DVD disc (or creat a CD or VCD or AVI or tape or MPEG file) with one click (you have to wait for the rendering and burning to complete of course). I also use it to create excellent photo slideshows complete with music and professional looking transitions/titles. The time taken to create the menu is not very long - typically half hour but it depends on how many scene changes in the menu you want. Of course the editing of your movie altogether can take much longer but it's fairly easy to use. Don't know if that helps?

Pinnacle Studio 8 is amazing - iv just had a trial with it. You can do absolutely anything you want with it, within reason (it doesnt make toast yet). I'd buy it!
