I need some help flashing my firmware. When i try to back up the original firmware i get 4 choices on what to select. Two slaves and two masters. One is an IDE and the other is something else neither one is SATA. I do not know which one to pick. Also i have tried both but neither one makes a backup of the original firmware. I am using a usb A drive. Could that be the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Do it with a floppy. The Sammy flash works better that way.

I am using a floppy disk. How long does the process take and what does it say when it is copying the firmware.

Sorry, unfortunately you wont be able to backup your samsung firmware with your silicon image chipset as it does not support the flashing of any devices attched to it.
Try getting hold of cheap sata card based on the Via chipset e.g vt6421,vt6421L etc
