Hi Everyone

Can anyone please help me. I'm having a problem trying to set up a wireless network through 2 laptops and a desktop.

The specific problem is that one of the laptops (we'll call it laptop A to make this less confusing) and the desktop can not access the shared files or folders on the second laptop (Laptop B).

I am running WinXp on all comps. All 3 comps can access the interent. Both laptops can acess the desktops shared folders and the desktop can access Laptop A's files. But neither the desktop or laptop A can access laptop B's files.

When viewing the work group computers, all 3 are listed on all computers.

I've run a windows troubleshooter and checked everything and it can not solve the problem.

I've did a ping on all computers. When I try to ping to Laptop B it comes back with the message 'Request timed out'. But gets the info for the other computers.

Can someone please help me with this problem??

Windows firewall? Maybe some 3rd party firewall? CHeck all your security settings, then recheck all of your file sharing settings.

Post back after double checking these, and we'll go from there.

disable all firewalls, enable file sharing, in the address type
\\name of computer\ see what you get

once you have it you ought to be able to put the firewall back on
