1. Does the PS2 need to be modded with soem Modchip or something like the Xbox?

1- Ofcourse
2- Depends whether the actual game is on CD format or DVD- CD will only burn to CD and DVD to DVD.
3- It's usually the same method just different format.

Common sense in the future will be appreciated.
