M3U Playlist vs. Cue File individual APE or FLAC songs Nero
1) As far as results are concerned what is the advantage or disadvantage of using a .cue file versus a .m3u playlist file for a) listening to music on your computer b) burning a CD?
2) I used to use nothing but Nero for burning. One of the reasons I added Burrrn to my arsenal was it is less picky and more powerful when it comes to .cue files. I'm talking .cue files that point to a single file for the whole album, e.g. albumname.ape, albumname.flac or albumname.wav.
3) Nero NEVER works when the .cue file is pointing to individual songs, e.g. track01.ape, track02.ape or ditto for song1.flac, song2.flac, songtrack1.wav, songtrack2.flac, etc. but Burrrn has no problem.
4) Sometimes when I have a set of individual song files, I will have both a .cue file and a .m3u playlist file, or sometimes there is no .cue but there is a .m3u playlist. Or maybe I have neither, but I can generate a playlist with programs like mp3tag.
5a) In Nero you can use a .cue file that points to an album.ape by Burning Image and pointing to the album.cue file not the album.ape.
5b) If the .cue file points to individual songs, Nero chokes.
5c) If you have a m3u Playlist and track.ape's you Burn Music (different section of the program from Burn Image) and point Nero to the album.m3u.
6) This is why I ask about .cue versus .m3u playlist. Is there any disadvantage to burning from the .m3u with Nero, versus using a .cue file and Burrrn when the songs are in individual files?
