Sony memory stick help !?!?

Hi guys, I have a Sony Vaio PC. I have taken tons and tons of pictures using a Sony camera with a "older or normal" memory stick. I recently purchased a Sony memory stick "PRO" and took a lot of pictures on a trip. When I got home I put the memory stick pro in the memory card slot and tried to open the pictures. No luck,.it waits and waits and waits, nothing happens. I have never had a problem with the older memory sticks, and this memory stick pro opens up on other computers. Is there an update I need to download or something I am missing?? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.
