ok so i wish too connect to live,but i don't have a spare modem etc...so i want to just take my pc's modem and hook it up to my 360...once i do this it should go online,but what i want to know is will the 360 change settings on my modem??? when i hook my modem back up to my pc,will it still go online?

ok two questions are we talking about a broadband internet cable modem if so you can directly connect it to the 360 without any issues

but if it is a external dialup modem you cannot use it sorry need broadband

also if you are going to sign up for xbox live purchase a 3 month starter kit first reason if you don't like xbox live for some reason you then do not waist 50.00 for a 12 month starter kit

it's broadband,it's just that my modem keeps all my internet settings stored inside it,so when i format my pc,i never have to re-setup my internet connection,i just plug my modem in and she goes online straight away,with dail-up i had to put in all theese settings to get the thing working,but my adsl modem now just keeps theese,and i'm just worried that when i plug my modem into the 360,that it shall change some setting on my modem??? please answer back quickly,i'm really eager to go on,and i have one month live gold thingy...

No it will not change any settings in your adsl modem but you may have to powercycle it everytime you plug it in your pc or computer

You can get a 12 month live card at Wal-Mart for about 35 dollars
