Hey everyone!

Well i hope im not pishing the boundary too much of what you can and cant say on afterdawn but here goes. My crappy old IDE harddrive is failing and is getting so slow its unbeliavable. So i wanna get a nice new fast harddrive. Would it be possible to copy my registration file and say put it on to disc. And then when i get my new harddrive just copy it in??

Would that work i know the file only works on the registered hardware. But i wont be changing any other hardware just the hdd. So do you think thatl work???

Also could someone tell me where exAtly is the windows registration file??

Thanks a bundle!

Their is no "windows registration file"......You will need to reinstalll windows...The registry is specfic for your hardware and depending oon the HDD the registry might need to e changed.......IT's best for you just to install windows

When you buy your super dooper new hard drive. Use the hard drive utility from the manufacturer to clone the old drive to the new one. No re install will be needed otherthan this usually.

Always has for me. If you buy a retail hard drive, e.g. with all the nuts screws cables and install cd the hard drive utility will come on that disk with instructions on how to use it. If you buy a bare OEM drive then you can download the utility from the manufacturers web site. Alternatively use Norton Ghost which will do the same job of cloning the hard drive.
