My current rig is:

AMD ATHLON XP 2600+
ASUS a7n8x-e deluxe mobo
Kingston DDR400 2x1 GB
MAXTOR 200gb SATA 3.0
Maxtor Maxline III 300GB
ATI 9800 pro
NEC DL DVD Writer
T1 Purepower 500 watt PSU PCI EXPRESS READY


I'm thinking of getting:

AMD x2 3800+ -
Abit fatal1ty -
ATI x1900xtx -

A few questions:
1) Is it worth it? Will I notice a difference? I am going to get Counter-strike Source and play it on high quality settings (1280x1024).
2) Should I wait for another product coming in the future that will allow me to see even more of a performance boost...?
3) Any components that should be changed? (maybe to minimize cost)
