They both come with only a 1 month free sub. After that you pay. You can get a 12 month sub at walmart for about 35

Well, wut BeefTaco is refferring to is an xbox live gold account. Here's the 411 on the different between gold and silver.
http://features.teamxbox.com/xbox/1245/Xbox-360-FAQs/p5/
bassically, even if you have the internet hooked up to your 360, you can still chat with friends, and download content from the marketplace as well as recieve updates. But you arent able to play games.
If you have a gold sub, then you have all of the featuresof silver and you can play games. Have fun!

Hey!I have a question to ask as myself am a noob about the 360.It's about the time settings.Last time i set it well to the correct time and date and today after one day without touching the 360,when i checked the time it's same as before,i.e the same time and date that showed before i set the time correctly the last time.So had to reset the time correctly before playing so that the game save doesn't save on that wrong date.Actually it's not really a very big problem but it's just that maybe everytime i switch on the 360,the first thing i should always do is to reset the time before starting any game.
Has anyone encountered the same little problem or does anyone have any suggestion about that?

hmmm...thats weird. I do know that Live automattically sets your time when you connect. Do you have your xbox connected to the Internet?

No never did that.I saw the thing written on the dashboard saying that the time will be set automatically once connected to live and cannot be changed. So that's why my time always changed, because i never get connected?First i'm a bit afraid to get connected because my 360 is modded and what i've read here in some threads about being banned permanently if MS finds out that your 360 is modded.

Now you make me look really stupid.Because yes,i do disconnect(unplug) my 360 after finish playing. Please don't laugh i know i'm pretty stupid in doing that but i don't have the choice.I actually own a japanese 360 and the voltage is 110V,so i have to use a power converter to make the voltage here which is 220V become 110V and if i don't unplug the converter,i guess it would heat up.So that's why the time will change everytime?
Btw,thank you for taking time to reply me,i was really hoping to get your advice here, that's why i posted here.

its cool man...i wont laugh at you. I dont blame you if you have a Japanese one(why? lol) but yes, the time whill change everytime unless you connect to the internet. if you connect to the Internet then you it will automattically set the time for you-Timezones, and Daylight Savings time included.

Houffff! Now i'm relieved, thought that my 360 got problem again.Btw it's my second 360,the first one got a problem about the disc tray, sometimes would not open and sometimes would continue to open by itself after closing. The reason why i got a jap 360 is because i'm not from the states, nor in Europe.
In fact i'm in Shanghai, here the voltage is 220V and they do sell 360 which are supposed to be distributed in Singapore/Hongkong and the voltage is 220v same as here. But i've decided to get one for Japan because it's much cheaper than the another one.the only difference is that i should add a power converter to be able to use it.And even after purchasing the power converter it remains much cheaper than the another one.
One important thing is that here, the sales of any console game is a world of difference from any country in the world.First most of these game shops selling these consoles are not direct authorized dealers for these specific game consoles such as ps2,xbox/360,etc...and here they do perform the mod.in the shop itself and without making any publicity about that. That's how i've been able to return my defective 360 and get another one.
You know i've been reading quite a lot of posts here and in other forums too and i've noticed that for almost everyone it's impossible to actually have mod chips for 360,maybe not yet out.And all people will say that the only way to play backup games or copy games is to flash the firmware. But man, last time i said that stuff in a thread here in AD and i got badly washed up by some members, who i understand and approve their opinion of not giving info.unless can be proved. But here, when you buy a game console, they perform the mod.in front of the client and i swear i saw that guy use a kind of chip and used his solder machine to fix that thing with all these wires.
Hey i'm gonna stop here, but if you too you think i'm talking BS and think it's a big lie,no problem,i understand. But thanks anyway for your assistance, you've been a great help for me.

yeah there is modchips out now, but i think they do the same thing as the firmware, think the dual firmware chip's.
the new chip from underdog seems ok as it patches the games for u wen u put it in, an turns off when u put an original in

When i bought mine,i didn't really have to choose which kind of mod. i want because the only thing they ask is,if you want to mod the 360 or not and if yes that's the only way the guy in that shop would do it,same as some other shops that i've been.First i was even worried when i saw him do the mod using the soldering machine and i even asked him if there's no other way of modding the 360 like flashing firmware but he said that's the only way they do the mod here in Shanghai. But i never said they use any "underdog" or whichever brand of modchip that is well reknowned in the U.S or Europe.I don't know exactly which brand of chip they used here, maybe of a chinese brand, that i'm sure will never appear in other countries because most people will prefer use better brand chips that even myself wanted but is not and will never be available here.
