Hi, I've just got a new 1.5 firmware psp and has a few questions pondering me. I've searched the forums but can't find any topics related to my questions.
1) I've long wanted the ebrowser on my psp and I know it's possible to get it with devhook. How am I be able to get all the latest upgrade(flash, ebrowser etc) from new fw updates without updating my 1.5 fw?
2) If I get the browser, will the updated features(ebrowser, flash etc) be there after I reboot the system to 1.5?
3) After you switch your system to for eg. 2.6, you can resume to 1.5 after restarting ur psp right?
Thanks for the time and answers!

if you have 2.7 firmware emulation, emulate into 2.7 and use the browser
if you emulate 2.7 everything is there

wow, thanks for the fast reply~
Hmmm..you mean the 2.7 emulation is in the devhook? My 3rd qn means..if I am in the 2.7..and I switched off my psp, will it revert back to 1.5 and I have to go to devhook to load 2.7 again?

i think enral means that once you emulate 2.6 thru devhook, can you go back to 1.5, if this is the case just do a full reset and you'll go bck to 1.5

To finjetsu: If you go back to 1.5, will the updated fw features still be there? (eg. ebrowser)
Oh ya..the battery seemed to be firmly attached to the battery slot..you guys just forced it out or is there a way to get the battery out easily?

nope wen u go bck to 1.5 ull only have the 1.5, if you want the browser you'd have to emulate one of the later firmwares...
and for the battery at the top isn't there a little bit where you can get your finger in to pull it out?

And if you are in the 2.7, can you play games that require 2.6 and below?

My last qn, I've heard that there is a way to take away fw version update notice when you load something that requires fw of higher version, is that true?
Anyways, thanks for your fast reply. =)

Yeah x-flash has that option. I love that program. Gotta be one of the best for flashing the onboard flash chip.

Hes in the right mind to be "chicken"...You can brick your psp if you try to flash your own custom files. Who wants a 250 dollar paperweight with a perty green light.

Well there is so only so many times a flash chip can be flashed before it goes kaput. Could be 25 or 2000 times. Although I have personally flashed custom backgrounds, god its over a couple dozen times now. Flashed 3 different gameboots and then once back to stock. Flashed two different custom fonts. Flashed the GAME icon to say code. Flashed the network update so it dont work. I mean lots and lots of flashing over here and mine is still truckin. And it's an original 1.5, bought first day of the psp release.

Not this particular one. Although I did update a different one not knowin what I was doing. I also had another 1.5 virgin psp bought after the release and I bricked that one but got another one for free from best buy. Damn i love extended warranties. I have been through...damn I dont even know how many psp's.
