does anyone know if it's possible to run eLoader through GTA:LCS if they are using DevHook 0.43 and not have to upgrade to 2.6?

That makes no sense. Why would you use the eloader if you dont need it. If you can run devhook you obviously have a 1.5...so ya.....ellaborate for us.

lolol totally pointless gta eloader is to load homebrew for 2.5/2,6 users plus the fact its limited homebrew. 1.5 opens the gates to all homebrew

not pointless. dark_alex had to use the eloader in 2.6 to get the reboot.bin encrypted file for 2.71 to his memstick before he could decrypt it, because there was a certain system call in 2.6 that let him call the file that 1.5 cannot do, he then had a 1.5 program to decrypt the eboot. So I want to try and get the 2.6 firmware emulated and then run the eloader to try and get the reboot.bin file. I have modified dax's decrypter to try and decrypt the the new 2.80 reboot.bin but i can't try it until i get the reboot.bin file.

I only have an iso of gta and not an actual copy so i can't upgrade to 2.6 do the stuff and then downgrade again. plus if this method can be devised it would save a lot of people upgrading and downgrading and possibly bricking their psp's

I dont think you even know what you just said. But it's included with devhook already.

PRXDecrypter Test r2 For PSP 2.7 Firmware

r2 Update: Now 2.60 reboot.bin gzipped is decompressed. The problem with it was Sony changing of module the UtilsForKernel library. The 2.7x reboot.bin is still not decompressed. It uses a new format of compression (RLZ?), and a new function introduced in 2.7x is the one that do the job:

sceSystemMemoryManager::UtilsForKernel_7DD07271

TODO: decompress the reboot.bin of 2.7x. It's decrypted, but not decompressed. The commpression of the reboot.bin has changed in 2.7x. It doesn't seem to be gzip anymore. It uses a new function introduced in 2.7X for the decompression: UtilsForKernel_7DD07271.. it doesn't exist in 2.60 unfortunately.

This a Mod of the prxdecrypt sample of the psp sdk to be run on 2.60 and to decrypt 2.60/2.70/2.71. It's more or less the same I released about a week ago, but this time the decryption works (it has only be tested in decrypting 2.71, but it would probably succeed in decrypting 2.70/2.60).

The program has 2 parts, one that must be executed in 1.50 and other that must be executed in 2.60.

1.50 part

- Copy __SCE__psar_dump2 and %__SCE__psar_dump2 to /PSP/GAME/ in the memory stick.

- Get the DATA.PSAR of the EBOOT.PBP of the update you want to decrypt (2.71 for example) and put it in the root of your ms.

- Start the program.

This is simply a psardump (PSpPet) mod that will dump the firmware ENCRYPTED to /F0 and with the correct paths.

2.60 part

- Be sure you have the F0 folder with the ENCRYPTED dump obtained in the 1.50 part.

- Copy prxdecrypt27X to /PSP/GAME/ and start the program with the GTA Loader.

- The memory stick will flash for some time. When it finishes to flash, resstart the PSP. You'll now have the decrypted firmware in a new created folder: /FD

TODO: decompress reboot.bin. It's decrypted but not decompressed.. the commpression of the reboot.bin has now changed. It doesn't seem to be gzip anymore.

-Dark_AleX
And i want to try and get the 2.80 reboot.bin this way but as you can see there is a 2.60 section

...2.60 part

- Be sure you have the F0 folder with the ENCRYPTED dump obtained in the 1.50 part.

- Copy prxdecrypt27X to /PSP/GAME/ and start the program with the GTA Loader.

- The memory stick will flash for some time. When it finishes to flash, resstart the PSP. You'll now have the decrypted firmware in a new created folder: /FD

The same method that was used to decrypt earlier firmware version will not work with 2.8 or it would have been done already.

i already said i edited the decrypter to try a new method, but i can't even try it until i can get a 2.80 reboot.bin. I just need to know if i can get eloader to run thru emulation, i'll worry about the actual decryption after that.

Why are you trying to load this program thru emulation when you could run the file thru 1.5 firmware. Get the data.psar from 2.8 and extract the files yourself and then u got reboot.bin. Then you can try decrypting it. I dont know im totally lost with your post tho.
