Ok I perfectly understand the concept of getting into mode b with my hitachi drive, but I cant seem to get into it and i think it has something to do with my sata connection.

I bought this PCI card off newegg.com.... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16815124022

As far as I know it is the right card for the job. The only thing i can think that is stopping it is it is set to raid. Is this possible. Because i read the title of the card and it says non-raid.

If anyone can give me some advice to what is going wrong that would be great.

I used the cross wire method to get a Hitachi into mode B. It's the fastest easiest way. I used a similar card, but it has the raid on there in the description and was a little more expensive. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16815124023

So u think i should do the cross wire? Do u think live cd is hit or miss. Cuz i did it and it wouldnt show in windows.

So im just wondering. If i do cross wire do u think it will show in windows or do u think i have to change something on my card?

EDIT: For the first message of mine.

The card says NON-Raid. But when i view it in my device manager it has Raid in the title.

Thats why im wondering if i am going wrong there.

Yeah do the cross wire. It may seem intimedating, but it's really easy to do and it works.

It seems to me like the wires are in there pretty good and fill up the whole hole. How do i go about this?

Lift up the little plastic tabs that hold the black wires in there. I used a really small flat head screw driver. You can hold your inserted wires in there with the tabs or take the black wires out and attach the wires and put them all back in there. I did it that way although it would have been easier just to hold the wires in there with the tabs. Here's a little more detail from a post a made on Xbox-scene forums. My tag there is dalton4life and I posted toward the end.

I have the older 7in1 v 1.2. It has 2 different files, but that could because it's older. It worked for me, but you have to the double eject on the Hitachi. At least I did 90% of the time. If you want, PM and I could email it.

I know people on Xbox scene have gotten it to work. Someone there might know what the problem is.

Ok. Right now it my SATA PCI card is having trouble being detected by my PC so I am going to assume that this is part of the problem.

So i am going to try and get that working and ill get back and let u know whats up.

Thanks for your help though. And if this doesnt work i will go to xbox scene and see whats up.

Ok So now it seems that my Sata card isnt working right. When I dont have anything plugged into it it shows up fine in my device manager. Put when i start my computer up with something plugged into it (xbox 360) it shows in the device manager that it is not connected properly.

So i dont really get whats up with that. Any opinions? I have already got it to detect my 360 drive once. But that is when i got that warning message.

Ok i got windows to recognize it again. Re-Downloaded the Firmware. Opened command prompt. Opened flash.bat. Looks like this...

C:\Documents and Settings\Mitchel>"C:\Documents and Settings\Mitchel\Desktop\X-LG\FLASH.BAT"

Then when that shows up I type in my drive letter and 4 numbers like this...

C:\Documents and Settings\Mitchel>"C:\Documents and Settings\Mitchel\Desktop\X-LG\FLASH.BAT" G 1572

Hit enter and get this....

Warning: A required XTREME file is missing!

Note: Please get the latest release of this package and unpack ALL the files into a directory, and then rerun this file.

Version: "XTRM-HITACHI-7IN1-V1_3.RAR"

Am I doing anything wrong?? I dont get it.
