I have a Philips DVD+RW DVD8701 burner.
I was using DVD Decrypter and IMGBurner to rip and burn a PS2 disk.
I even tried burning with Nero.
My problem is booktyping, I was using a Memorex DVD. I did read that many of these forum experts say to use Verbatim, Ricoh and other higher quality brands of DVD's.

My question is even if I buy one of these other type of DVD's - will my Philips still be able to do the booktyping? I do not have a Plextor or LG, etc. drive that is shown on the IMGburner booktypes.
So am I stuck or not?
Any help would be appreciated.

I had the same problem but notice that straight rip and burn would work on DVD-R and that's because of the whole booktyping thing. The reason I thing to choose DVD-R better quality is because of your laser, so I do recommend verbatim DVD-R I bought mine at bestbuy with same code mcc02 though they are cheaper online but give those a try I bet you'll get better results. I burnt my backups using Nero cuase that's where the software would burn them much better for me, so find the software that works for you but I do recommend DVD-R verbs and I also use sony.
