i have verbs 16x printables and when i was uising firmware 1.10
for my Pioneer DVR-A08 the supported write speeds were, 4,6,8,12,16, and i did a couple at 16x and they turned out fine.

i was having problems with my ripping speed so i decided to upgrade my firmware to the newest, 1.20, so i did. didn't help the ripping speed, and also the 16x speed doesn't show up as being supported any more.
thats wierd right?

no it aaint. pioneer probally figured out the burner didnt write good at 16x so they removed it...

although i did a couple at 16x speed and they played good

yeah but run a scan with Nero cd/dvds tool and you might see it being a very crappy burn...

If you're still not satisfied with the new firmware and still prefer the previous one,you can still get it back by rolling back your drive update.

For this,click start,control panel,then systems and box will come up then you click the hardware tab then device manager then click CD/DVD ROM drives right click on the drive you want to roll back the firmware,go to click properties then click the driver tab,you will see four choices,click "Roll Back Driver" and you're set.

But one thing that i agree with Ozzy214,is that burning @16X normally produces not so very beautiful scans.And on that it's not advisable to burn at such a high speed.The best burning speed(in my opinion)remains 8x even for the best medias.But if you say that they play well and you don't care so much about scans,then better continue with the way you used to do.

yeah i usually burn my 16x verbs at 8x all the time. i just wanted to see how some would turn out burning at 16x. thats all
