I download a movie in DVD format and use dvdshrink to burn it on a disk. The disk will then play the movie on the computer but my dvd player is not able to play it. However when I use dvdshrink to copy a dvd I already have, the disk will play in the player.

Most of the movies I download are from different countries, so is this the problem? Is my player just refusing to play a foreign made movie? That's all I can think of.

I dont know if this is possible but if the person you downloaded the film from didnt use software to remove the region protection I guess it could still be present in the video files/on the burned disc.
