Any there any homebrew apps or emulators that are compatible with it? I already had to return my PSP twice because of dead pixels and minor screen defects, so I can't mess with it again. Plus, it's all new stock that I was returning, ergo I suspect they'll all be TA-082's so there's no point in asking an employee to let me open any more up.
What can I do with this thing? From the looks of it, I'll never be able to run SNES/N64 emulators or any of that stuff.
Should I wait it out, hope for even partial emulator compatibility, wait for a potential downgrader that works, or just resign myself to defeat and just spend another $300 or whatever on a 1.5 somewhere down the road?
Advice?
Thanks in advance.

Well i have a 1.5 psp on ebay right now currently. But if you have 2.6 you can use eloader and run SOME homebrew. I think the snes emu can run on eloader. But you need an unpatched version of GTA:LCS for eloader to work.

By the way, one thing that's odd:
I know I have a TA-082 because I have the dreaded IC1003 writing to the right.
But to the left, I also see a partially obstructed number sequence that says IC6001. Is that normal for a IC1003?

i think i've read somewhere that as long as you have ic1003 on the right, it's a ta-082 no matter what.

By the way, can anybody direct me to some TA082 compatible emulators, if they in fact exist? I'd like to familiarize myself with the process a little bit, since I'm new to it (and already dead in the water since I have the wrong damn motherboard).
P.S. Any N64 stuff compatible with it? Or is that just for lucky 1.5 owners?

currently there is no n64 emulator that works correctly. That is a work in progress ATM. As for things compatible with 2.6 go to fanjita.org to check out a list. It doesnt matter if you have a ta-082 to run the eloader. The only reason that comes in is for the downgrader.

Yeah like hex said, you can run a lot of homebrew apps, no ISO loading though, but you will need an unpatched copy of GTA:LCS.

too slow here again, was gonna direct him to fanjita also
yes ta-082 model doesnt matter combined with gta lcs unpatched (the one with a GUN as a umd logo) and eloader you can run many homebrews. n64 emulators for psp is still young in its development stage, mostly popular games run but hardly playable, 8mb rom limit, weird graphics, no sound, etc. so we'll have to wait.

i have noticed you have made a habit of going around to threads and saying the exact same thing as other people just using different words. Try not to do that. Not the best way to make "friends" on here.

I'm having trouble making any headway over at fanjita. Can anybody link me directly to any SNES emulators/ROMs out there that will work on a TA-082 without incredible amounts of hassle? I don't know if that's against the TOS or what, if such a thing even exists.
Basically, I just wanted to eventually be able to play Earthbound and the N64 Zeldas. I know the N64 thing is early in development, but I was kinda hoping to be able to give it a shot.
Anyhoo, thanks for the help, guys.

I heard somewhere that sony made the ta-082 motherboard impossible to downgrade to 1.50, but they didn't cover up downgrading to 1.00. DCan anyone confirm this? Also, Fanjita said that they have kernal accses in 2.50 and 2.60 so they could make 2.60 homebrew friendly.

So is glitchy sound and odd framerates and stuff normal for SNES emulators?
Also, is Daeldus (or whatever it's called) compatible? It's in the eloader compatibility list, but I don't want to mess with it if it won't work on TA-082.
