only people who have problems, are people who are making their first game backups. Once you get the method down, the mod is flawless. You need to use Verbatim DVD+R DL.
Hope all goes well.

if you download the rar, inside the rar is 2 files a .dvd and a .iso, or a .dvd and a .img or a .dvd and a .000 all depends no what you download.

One problem though. You can't make your own backups if the firmware on the chip can't extract the security sectors. From what I've read the only thing you can do with the chips is play backups.

Ya, I'd double check with him. Ask which chip he's putting in. There's only 2 available.

Soldering in a mod chip is no problem... but it's much easier(and cheaper) to flash.

Well... all the chips are still pretty new so it's hard to say. With the nme360 you're using thier firmware, and that won't read security sectors. PLUS if you end up downloading backups of your originals they still have to be reauthored. Here's a quote from thier site:
Quote: To convert an Xtreme game image to an image for use with NME-360 modchip follow these easy steps:
Download the complete Xtreme 2 NME-360 converter package by clicking here.
Your Image.000 file contains the game and security sector, the security
sector(SS) needs to be extracted and converted to work with the NME360 chip.
Extract the SS with the excellent Xbox360 SS Merger program.
- Choose Tool, Iso Splitter
- Select the Game Iso (usually Image.000)
- Click Extract SS, make sure that the offset is set to 265877504.
- enter the file name ss.bin
- and press SPLIT!
This creates a file ss.bin
Run convert.bat to convert the security sector, and to build a new ISO.
This can take a few minutes, as we'll have to copy more then 7 Gigs.
The final GAME.ISO size should be 7.705.657.344 bytes.
Burn the ISO using CloneCD or IMGburn. Set your drives booktype to DVD+R DL, for maximum drive compatibility.
for Imgburn, make sure that the layer breakpoint is set to 1913760.
The Samsung chip only works with discs burned as DVD+R DL.
The Hitachi chip works with booktypes DVD-ROM and DVD+R DL.

The chip all do the same job. Run third party firmware. I guess they're all a horse-apiece.
As for media, I strongly recommend Verbatium DVD+R DL's and only burn at 2-2.4x. And make sure your burner is set to burn as DVD-ROM.

You have to do it in DVDinfoPro with a disc in the tray by hitting the +RW button. Close the program and then start CloneCD.

lucas23,
Try putting the lastest firmware on your burner. That's the same burner that I have. This site has firmware for nearly ever burner.
