i bought a ps2 game from the states and i can't play it on my Australian ps2 what can i do to get it to work??

make an image of it and convert it to PAL then burn it and play it. If you don't have means of playing backups then you're pretty much SOL unless you buy something to be able to boot backups.

Most trials or demos are only part of the game, so they cannot be converted into the full thing.
