sucks i know i only have cd burner at the moment and i cant work out how to get any films on to cdr only ones i can do are bin and cue dose anyone know what i need to use step by step to burn AVI DivX XviD and all on to cdr i have been trying to work out for months and cant get it any help would be much aprichited

Start an ISO data compilation, drag the file over and burn. Sounds like maybe you want an (X)(S)VCD in which case you need to convert before burning.

if you have Nero you can make a VCD with that it has one of the best encoders to do what you want to do

thanks everyone i done all that but it dosnt work on my dvd player wich is still ok because i dont need to keep all of the films on pc
but i think i need to convert the AVI to bin or something dose anyone know of a good convurter i can use and how to work it and if anyone knows what format to use for use in a uk dvd player bin and cue allways work

Hi darthgom,
They are telling you that certain things on a CD will play okay in a DVD player. VCDs/SVCDs will, and mini-DVDs will. AVIs will not (unless specifically supported by your player).

If you have an AVI you simply burn it as a file to the root of the CD, easy.
But AVIs are MPEG4. If you want VCDs/SVCDs/mini-DVDs you must convert to MPEG1 or MPEG2, which is a different matter.
This forum is to help encoding DivX/XviD AVIs (usually from MPEG2 source) - what you do with these AVIs then is your business, LoL :^) So what do you want to do again? Just get a DVD-burner, they're dirt-cheap...
