Hi, I was wondering what the best compression level for GTA and Out Run 2006 would be.

Because when I compress GTA on level 9 on .CSO there is some serious lagging, and Out Run does not feel right.

Thanks.

Yes, both versions work for me. I have an untouched iso which works and the other was converted using CISCO converter at level 9. That made it go down to about 515mb but there is alot of lagging.

Gta is always laggy. If you compressed it it would make it more laggyer i guess lol. Do you got a big memstick?? If not you should get the devhook usb so you cna just load it off ur psp:)
Ok here is a step by step guide now for DH 0.45!

1)Dowload USBHOSTS from here-
http://rapidshare.de/files/26705803/usbhostfs_PC_Win.zip.html
or
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=SYGGLTOG

2)Download Devhook Ultimate installer from here- http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/648

3)Download USB/No autorun/screenshot for Devhook 0.44/0.45 from here- http://rapidshare.de/files/28056231/Ms_root.zip.html
OR
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=DHQ7VKC8

4)Unzip Ms_Root and USBHOSTFS.

5)Run devhook_ultimate_installer_v1091.exe (Devhook ultimate installer.exe) and select only the top option, that is Devhook 0.45 with 2.71 firmware and install it on your PSP (G: in my case). Note you should have atleast 25 MB free for this to work.

6)Go to where you unzipped Ms_Root and and copy the dh and PSP folder to the root of your MS..click yes to all (overwriting)

7)GO to the usbhostfs_PC_Win folder (wherever you unzipped it) and put your ISO, in the ISO folder (put .iso infront of your ISO filename).

8)Disconnect USB (keep the cable plugged in) and go to devhook 0.45, launch and go to other and Enable USB.

9)Double click usbhostfs.exe in the usbhostfs_PC_Win folder and it should say Connected to device. (If this does not happen and your PSP says Found New Hardware "PSP Type B" got to step 10 or skip to step 11)

10)After selecting 'Enable USB' in devhook and launching usbhostfs.exe, a box will pop-up on your computer saying 'PSP Type B' New hardware found...then it will ask you to install drivers, at the first menu select the option not to connect to search for updates and choose to search for drivers manually, then simply select the folder usbhostfs_PC_Win/driver ... it will automatically install the drivers and usbhostfs.exe should now say 'connected to device'

Bascially all you are doing is installing the drivers (located at usbhostfs_PC_Win/driver/)

11)Now, return to the Devhook GUI to mess around with the settings with usbhostfs.exe running (and saying- "Connected to device") and USB enabled, use these settings-

TARGET: (reboot XMB)
UMD-ISO: ubshostfs0:/ISO/game.iso(your iso in the ISO folder in the usbhostfs_PC_Win folder)
UMD-MODE: ISO ANYUMD
FLASH: ms0:/dh/271(MS HOOK)
UMD Ver.: 2.xx -> 2.00
CLOCK: 222/111 (I use Home+Select once in XMB to play games at 333/166)
REMOTE: remote controller
PL-ADDR: 88E00000 (some games also use the 2nd option)
Autorun: Disabled
USB: Enabled
ScreenShot: Disabled

11)Press start, if all goes well your game should launch! If it doesnt make sure your folders are in the right place and try plaing around with the PL-ADDR.

Thanks for the great help Sulidsnak, i have a 2gb memory stick duo, which is big enough for an uncompressed GTA.

I also have the usb thingy installed if my memory card is full.

Thanks for good detailed guide though.

The preload address should be set to 89000000. I have never had a problem with ANY game using that preload address. Inlcuding GTA and DBZ Shin Budokai. GTA nor Outrun like to be compressed. They lag quite a bit. If you have the storage run the uncompressed version and it should play fine.
