Hey guys !!!! I got the PS2 game, 'The Warriors', backed up on DVD. I want to extract an MP3 from the game so I can use it as a ringtone on my cellphone. How do I go about doing that? What program do I use and what file in the game do I get this from? Thanks guys!!!

You'll most likely require a custom made tool specifically for the game to extract music/video files from it, unless they're in a folder on their own, but most often they're packed away in a 'munge' file.
The music files will also, most likely, not be in an MP3 format, but some other file extension that perhaps your PC won't recognise.

Since the game is based on the film from the 70's, I would suggest it be easier to use Google to find the soundtrack files from the movie & in particular, the one you want as a ringtone.

Tokijin, thanks for the reply. After trying to look for the ADX file, I can't find it in The Warriors game. There are, however, large SND music files present. I don't know if these files contain any smaller music files themselves.

I'll give you a rundown of the files and folders present in the game and hopefully, you may shed light on what I should do:

IOP (FOLDER)
- BFW.SND
- MUSIC.SND

MODULES (FOLDER)
- IOP.IRX
- IOPRP300.IMG
- LIBSD.IRX
- MCMAN.IRX
- MCSERV.IRX
- PADMAN.IRX
- SIO2MAN.IRX

PSS (FOLDER)
- ABOUT 14 .BIK FILES

(OTHER FILES FOUND IN ROOT DIRECTORY)
- SLUS_212.15
- SYSTEM
- WARRIORS.DIR
- WARRIORS.WAD

I hope you can shed light on how to extract the music files from any of these files because I am so desperate in getting a song for a ringtone for my cell. Thanks !!!!

I gotta be honest, this is one of those things where I post the link, but have no idea how to actually do it. I've never attempted this process, and probably never will. Ace's suggestion was a good one, if you really like the song, find out who sings it and try to find it via BitTorrent, P2P, IRC, warez, etc.

Tokijin, it's not a song at all. It's actually a sound in the game. The sound is prevalent mostly during load times in the game and is a must-have for me. I hope you understand. You got to help me with this, please buddy !!!

Well I wouldn't mind, but this is a total unknown. A. I'm not sure it can be done. B. If it can, it's going to require a lot of research, which honestly, I don't have time for. The best I can do is ask around and see if anyone knows how to do it.

http://www.alucard.cc might be a good place to start looking.
