I'm still running into a brick wall trying to backup my PS2 Dvds....right now, I'm using a LiteOn 16x DVD burner with DVD Decrypter and Verbatim media. My PS2 Slim will boot up swapmagic fine, but after I put the burned DVD in, it just spins and stays blank screen....
I've tried burning both the mds and iso files, neither work! I've looked thru the forums and stickys but cant find anything else that i might be doing wrong, although I'm sure its pretty simple...
Did you apply Gnie's Patch? Fifa Street 2 require a patch to work with Swap Magic. If not, that's probably the problem. Aside from that, 16x media is a mixed bag with PS2 backups, it's best to stick with quality 8x media like Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim.
Wow...thanks tokijin! I had no idea i needed a patch....is there a website to check which game titles require patches before burning them? I just hate throwing good dvd's away.

Hardly any games need patched to work with Swap Magic, in fact that's the only one I can think of offhand. There is a list of games that require special procecdures for burning, but it's pretty dated. Don't throw out those DVD's yet, 16x Verb's are good media, but 16x media is just very iffy with the PS2 period. If you're continually getting coasters, then worry about picking up some 8x DVD's.
