Hi,
I have just noticed there is a lot less traffic in these media forums now, it use to be crazy a couple month agi. what happened? is it just the season or what?
anyway, the weekyly media sale thread by jasper use to go over 50 posts, even 70+, but now its under 20

a slight lull, but not too quiet, guess it's because it's the summer

i haven't been as active in this forum as my media problems are zero and i've got more blank media than i can eat at the moment

Seems like a lot of people have finally decided to stop trying to defend Memorex and other inferior quality discs. It just makes more sense to buy quality discs and skip the headaches and extra costs of having to backup originals again....

naw, the Memorex (mainly CMC) defence is still ongoing if you know where to look :)

buy some Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim, or sony's and your good to go
stay away from: Memorex, opto, apsdwo,dsfadfoe....anything sound funny brand

come on now my funny sounding Khypermedia dvd8x-r are good disc....havent had one problem with them...oh i only have used them once.could hurt useing them to figure out if i had a more serious problem other than cheap media..lol

yeah, with CD's these days you can almost burn on the see-through plastic that some cd's come in, or the little foam spacer out of a tub of discs, and get good results; however DVD's just aren't 'there' yet hence why it's common sense to advocate decent tried and tested media as opposed to utter atrocious rubbish that 'might' work for like 3 people in the world

i think it is because alot of people are actually doing what the rules are, do a search first. also, a lot of people are doing the vacation thing. kids will be starting back to school in the next week, so i am sure that people will start coming back around.

i hope this is true i have noticed alot of knowledgeble people staying away from here and going to other dvd forums, there has been alot of flame wars at AD here recently....
let all just burn and burn happily together, and share our positive excperiences with one another....
wow will that get me the AD noble peace prize....lol

Wow ya all made me start cleanin my house and that means more money to spend on my beloved Memosux that I use through out the house to keep yhe rings off my tables.But I'm still tryin to find some +R printable Ty's like the price I've been payin for The Verbs. Glad everybodys have fun burnin with the good media. I haven't burn't in a few weeks now due to the lack of any good movies. Chris

cincyrob- I Think like the others said earlier that it's just a lull! We've had the same problem ( LULL in the Postings) at the Dumpster diving thread several times ! Do to People being busy ?, Vacations , Or possibly just not having anything to say !!!!! ? Who knows ? Sometimes people need a gentle and or Humorous prodding ! A Interesting story or event that happened to you or a friend ! A friendly jibe at them ( Not hatemail or flaming -I did say friendly !!!) Or just post a few yourself !!! Sometimes It seems certain threads have key players that once they post everyone else jumps aboard . Then you have the Grand Masters Like Creaky for example who are wise and generous to others with their wisdom without being condescending about it ! He's a Good Motor scooter as some O' the guys at work used to say ! And their are many others as well !And they seem to be around often enough to help us less experienced poster out ! The main thing is is if a particular Thread or topic is one you really enjoy then work it! try to keep it rolling - Just don't overdo it to the point where it becomes forced and dry ! Keep up the Good work - & Happy burning all ! On the CDR issue - I was a CD'er long before I became a DVD'er and Ironically most of the Branded CDR's are made by everyones Favorite Factory of Crappy Media ( CMC=Crappy Media Company !!!!!!!!!) I said ironically because they seem to be able to make pretty decent CDR's . I understand that CDR & DVDR are similar though vastly different technology though. I still occasional burn the odd CD and maybe a few that are'nt so odd but I'm more dvd than cd now ! I still have a xmas Gift card ( BestBuy )Burning a Hole in my wallet decisions ,decisions . I used to get up every sunday and check this thread before I even walked out to get the paper. I used Sony -R for a while but quickly bought a Epson R340 switched to TY hubprintable, and of course I buy those on line.
