It seems like they accually want to do this. i guess releasing it as external prevents some consumer cost, but inside means more capacity for anything. it seems like a good idea to try, and anyone wanting HD-DVD will be happy to hear this. on the down side, where is hdmi? i thought there would be a port in the back of the drive for it but i guess not. after ict in enated later on, how will the 360 output the high def? the signals will all be digital and if it goes through componant the signal will downscale to 540p. if ms goes around this by converting the signal, they could be faced by lawsuits.
lets wait for the price and release date now. im interested to know.
But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things. You forget, because youre so busy going from a to z, that theres 24 letters in between... You turn on... tune in... and you drop out...

yes, it saves you money not being internal. but games are limited. on a larger format, they could have anything to them, like have a movie with your game, endless textures and models, levels and addons, bonus things, you name it. plus games are getting alot more sizable. lack of space wont effect the 360 for a year or maybe two when their ps3 counterparts are having more special features and abilities. in time i see much less 360/ps3 conjoined games.
so to answer your "overpriced overrated" comment, most of the players sell under production cost. overrated tho? whats there not to like? a product usually does well if people like it for a reason. it and HD-DVD are mostly the same tho, so i dont care either way. i'm getting a ps3, so i'm leaning more towards bluray because of that and its support from more movie studios. but the bluray camp needs to spit out some more films if they want more people to pick up the bandwagon, same with HD-DVD.
