Hey bzkilla,
I tried burning And1 streetball to a dvd bout 4 times did not get it to work once the Playstation 2 logo would come up and then the screen would just go black and stay black! i also asked some1 else bout this on afterdawn they also could not get it to work. This is what i tried when i got And1 Streetball i tried deleting the Dummy file, rebuilding the game, burning at slower speeds with good media, asked other people about and still a week later im still not playing the game!!!
I REALLY HOPE THAT YOU GET THIS GAME TO WORK ON YOUR PS2!!
and if you do i would very much appericiate it if you told me what you did!

And 1 Streetball worked fine for me. Just burnt the iso to good quality media & booted it with Swap Magic.
I suggest changing your media to better quality. RITEK G05 8x DVD-R discs burnt at 4x give me perfect burns 100% of the time.
Always 1st with 100% working PS2 Online Game DNA$ IDs!!

What's the Media ID of the discs you're using? Rebuilding often doesn't make a drastic difference in the size of the game, but helps a game to run smoother for Swap Magic users. It's likely a media related problem.
91. Q. What is the Media ID of a DVD and how can I find it?
A.The Media ID of a DVD is the true measure of it's quality. It contains prerecorded info about the disc's manufacturer. The quality of the disc will vary depending on the media code. The media code isn't visible on the disc or the packaging. To check the media ID, Open DVD Decrypter, insert your disc, and check what it says under Media ID or Manufacturer ID. You can also use a program called DVD Identifier which is very useful. You can find it here: http://dvd.identifier.cdfreaks.com/ Compare the Media ID to this link: http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm Huge List of Media ID's (Thanks to DogBomb): http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/155431

Ok those're 16x Taiyo Yuden DVD-R's. Try burning at 8x or 12x. If that doesn't work, the 16x media could be the issue. 16x media is very spotty with PS2 backups. I've only burned a couple of games to TYG03, they did work, but I don't have a lot of personal experience with it.

Don't worry about what chip you have for now, that's the least likely cause. The most likely issue is crappy media. Refer to my earlier post about Media ID and post it for the discs you're using.

Yeah I'm aware made in Japan TDK media is rated first class, that's a discrepancy in my opinion. I've had plenty of encouters where games didn't work on TDK but did on TY's or Verb's. There's a good chance the TDK media is the cause. For movie backups, knock yourself out, TDK should work fine. For PS2 backups, it's best to stick with 8x TY and Verb's.
86. Q. Where can I find good deals on legit Taiyo Yuden's and Verbatim's?
A. http://www.supermediastore.com Great List of Merchants locally, online, in the U.K., etc:
http://www.digitalfaq.com/dvdguides/buyerguides/buymedia.htm
106. Q. Where can I find top notch Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim media locally?
A. This is somewhat of a crap shoot. Big manufacturer's like Fuji and Sony have at one point past or present payed Taiyo Yuden to manufacture media for them. The big companies slap their name on the label even though the discs were manufactured in Japan by Taiyo Yuden. These discs will always be made in Japan. Authentic TY media isn't made anywhere else. Even if it says Made in Japan on the label, there is no guarantee of getting authentic Taiyo Yuden media. You could still end up with Sony or Fuji media codes. Hence why I said this is a crap shoot. Places like Comp USA, Office Depot, Sam's Club, and Staples will carry Made In Japan branded discs. If you don't want to risk getting non TY discs, you can find 50 packs of Verbatim in the afore mentioned chain stores. There's a trick to spotting Taiyo Yuden's under the Sony label. Newer 8x Sony DVD+R's (Media ID: Yuden000T02) will have an octogonal spacer (piece of styrofoam) on top of the spindle. 16x Taiyo Yuden DVD-R's (TYG03) will also have an octogonal spacer on top of the 50 spindles. You'll still want to check to see if it says "Made in Japan" on the label, but newer batches of TY's can usually be identified by the octogonal spacer. One other alternative is the Made in Japan High Grade Maxell DVD+R's. They will say Made in Japan on the label and "High Grade" as well. These are excellent media. Remember when using DVD+R's, it's best you have a burner that supports booktyping/bitsetting, and a v.4 PS2 or later. Much thanks goes to kivory666 aka "docTY" for this information. He is indeed the Taiyo Yuden master. The best place to get authentic Taiyo Yuden media is from reputable online vendors like http://www.supermediastore.com http://www.rima.com http://www.meritline.com or http://www.newegg.com

I pretty much use exclusively TY's. I started using TYG02, then I moved up to Yuden000T02. I've only burned 15 Verb's or so for a friend, but they worked flawlessly. So 8x Verb's or TY's in either format should work fine.

If your Sony's work okay, stick with them. I don't believe Sony to be first class media, but it's better than CMC Mag by a long shot, and it's not that bad. Often it will code out to Ricoh or Sony, either of which is okay for PS2 backups. Those Sony's may in fact be TY's, if they were made in Japan.
